Summer Essentials:Part 2

Updated: May 26, 2023

As I was writing the twenty-two essentials for the summer of 2022, I realized that I would need to split up the list as to avoid a massive and rather overwhelming post. If you missed the previous eleven items, you can find them in Summer Essentials: Part One under the “Lifestyle” tab. As we continue in the numerous festivities of summer, so do the summer essentials! From accessories to self-care, you’ll be prepped for it all.

12. Teva Hurricane Drift Sandals

These sandals are perfect for summer and especially for those days in the water. (Pictured below.) They are lightweight, waterproof and floatable.

Because these are waterproof and have an ankle strap, you can walk straight into the water with them on and straight out comfortably. Oh, and did I mention these sandals are vegan and made out of recycled materials!

13. Plain White Tee

A staple to every wardrobe is the plain white tee. It’s the perfect versatile shirt for any outfit. I own a few white tees that I like to rotate through. You can go with a relaxed, boxy fit, maybe even a cute chest pocket for a comfortable, casual look. For a more modern, done up look you can do a tighter fit; throw in some ruffles or sinches for a little extra spice! The point is, you can never go wrong with a plain white tee.

14. Sonicare: Philips One Electric Toothbrush

Being a dental professional, I’m a big fan of Sonicare’s new electric toothbrush. The Philips One rechargeable electric toothbrush comes in four different colors, includes a travel case and charging cord so you can take it with you wherever you travel. It also has a built in two-minute timer so you get the exact length of time your hygienist wants you to brush!

15. Young Living Deep Relief Roller Essential Oil

This item in particular is an absolute must for all you travelers out there.

Young Living is an essential oil company committed to plant-based, naturally derived products that do not contain any harsh or harmful chemicals. This essential oil is a roll-on that smells refreshingly minty and works to soothe and cool fatigued muscles. You can apply this oil straight or with a lotion anywhere soreness occurs; massage it in well and let it do it’s work. For those long days of traveling and sightseeing, your feet are tired and need some love. I always travel with this oil; at the end of the day, give your feet a little rub with this oil and I guarantee your feet will feel brand new in the morning, ready to carry you into your next travel adventure!

16. Bandolier Phone Case

I love changing out my phone cases every now and then, but this case in particular is one of my favorites. These are leather with a built-in slim card pocket and a crossbody purse strap.

Depending on which style you get, the wallet on the back can fit 3-4 or 5 cards.

This case (pictured on the right) allows you the freedom to go out and about without lugging a purse with you, grab your most important cards and attach it to your phone and you’re out the door. There are also extra attachments and accessories you can purchase in case you need to bring a few more things for the day out.

17. MAC Extended Play Gigalash Mascara

I'm always on the hunt for a good mascara, this one from MAC is almost always in my cosmetic bag. The Extended Play Gigalash provides long-wearing, water resistant and flake-proof qualities that make it great for days that don’t allow for reapplication. From morning till late into the night, your lashes will stay lifted and defined!

18. Nordstrom “Bracha Initial Pendant Necklace”

The initial jewelry trend has become increasingly popular. One of my favorites is the Bracha initial pendant necklace sold at Nordstrom. (Pictured below.)

It is a gold plated, 16 1/2” necklace that looks great with any outfit.

You can choose to wear it alone or layer it with some of your other favorite gold necklaces for a little extra pizazz.

*Shoppers tip: you can find this item as a part of the anniversary sale at Nordstrom.*

19. Dr. Jart Sheet Masks

Make sure your face is healthy and glowing with the help of Dr. Jart face sheet masks. This is one of my favorite skincare brands, especially when it comes to face masks. They offer a wide variety of different masks for all your skincare needs. Masks for clearing acne prone skin, for reducing the appearance of wrinkles, for brightening, for redness reduction and more; there are so many options. Every time I use these masks I wake up with my face feeling fresh and rejuvenated.

*Shoppers tip: pick these up at Marshalls or TJ Maxx for a cheaper price. *

20. Claw Clips

The claw clips are in full force. No matter what size, shape or color they are the perfect hair accessory to keep your hair pulled back and out of the way. You can find them practically everywhere, but I think your best bet is Amazon. There are so many different bundles and packs with all kinds of different kinds of clips that you can rotate through.

21. Cadence Capsules

Packing for travel can be tricky, especially when it comes to toiletries. There’re so many things to bring, especially for us gals; shampoo, conditioner, face serums, toner, cleanser, moisturizer and more.

All those things add up and take up precious space. The 0.5 oz capsule containers by Cadence (pictured on the left) are perfect for organizing and maximizing space in your travel bag. I use these all the time for traveling, they keep all my toiletries organized with customizable capsule labels and leak proof seal for the trip!

22. Hydro Flask

One word, hydration. It’s always incredibly important to stay hydrated, especially when days are blistering hot. And nothing hits the spot like a nice, ice-cold water. My Hydro Flask is always with me like an accessory to every outfit! They come in several different sizes and colors depending on what you’re looking for. These bottles are great because they have double wall vacuum insulation that maintains temperature for hours and are dishwasher safe. I have used Hydro Flask for years and can attest to their durability and impeccable temperate regulation.

Here concludes my list of summer essentials for the year of 2022. All of these have been great purchases for me and I believe they will be worth it for you too! Enjoy the summer knowing you’re ready for it all!

And that’s the dirt!
